[News] James, Gary and Chris discuss the latest gaming headlines, including news that Microsoft is trialling a new subscription model for anyone buying a new Xbox 360. Ubisoft announces a belated Avengers game, while Blockbuster apparently leaks the Wii U launch line-up. In a double dose of EA news, Dead Space 3 is on its way by next March and Star Wars: The Old Republic starts to lose subscribers. Finally, Square Enix unveils a Sniper Challenge game for those that pre-order Hitman: Absolution.

[Roundtable] In the wake of Black Ops II’s unveiling, James, Gary and Chris discuss the Military Shooty Shooty Bang Bang genre and what makes these games so popular that they dominate the market. We also discuss our reservations about the genre and its leading franchises (personal opinions, of course) and what we think it would take to make military shooters more appealing.

First details emerge about the new Call of Duty and torrent site The Pirate Bay is blocked in the UK. Microsoft decides to can Inside Xbox, Keith Vaz makes another attempt to defeat the evil that is video games, and developers lament poor WiiWare sales. Finally, The Elder Scrolls jumps on the MMO bandwagon.
[Replay] Gary, Neil and James revisit Civilization Revolution, the streamlined console and iOS adaptation of Sid Meier’s popular and all-too-addictive PC strategy series.
[Roundtable] The GameBurst team is joined by MMO enthusiast and former podcaster Dits to discuss massively multiplayer online games. We share what has kept us hooked on MMOs in the past and what has pushed us away. We also look at how MMOs have changed over the last decade, how much of that is attributable to World of Warcraft, and what changes we want to see from future titles.
[News] The team discuss EA’s decision to release a free Extended Cut ending for Mass Effect 3 and a piece of Battlefield 3 that costs a whopping £30 DLC for Battlefield 3. Harmonix ditches the plastic instruments for Rock Band Blitz, and the creator of Minecraft releases the first details of his new sci-fi game. Nintendo responds to reports that Wii U isn’t as powerful as Xbox 360 and PS3. Finally, Electronic Arts is declared the “worst company in Amercia”.
